Group Overview
The goal of the Web Search & Data Mining Group of MSR Asia is to drive the
next
generation of Web search by leveraging data mining, machine learning, and
knowledge discovery techniques for information analysis, organization,
retrieval, and visualization. In addition, in contrast with current Web
search
methods, which essentially do document-level ranking and retrieval, the Web
Search & Data Mining Group has created search at the object level to bring
increased knowledge and intelligence to users.
Roles & Responsibilities
Web Search & Data Mining Group is recruiting visiting student to:
1. Help doing research in IR modeling, large scale Web search, object-level
vertical search, and DB-IR;
2. Help building Web innovation infrastructure and various research
prototypes.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for:
1. BS/MS/Ph.D in majored in system, information retrieval, Web search, or
database;
2. Familiar with C/C++ or C#;
3. Good mathematical skills(For research oriented students);
4. Having experience on building large-scale distributed systems is a big
plus;
5. Being able to work at least 6 months.
